John, I like your videos but this is stupid! I don't support Polanski's actions at all but you don't seem to know the whole story. He raped a 13 year old and went to jail for it. He did his time and got out later. Then the judge called him back for no reason whatsoever and threatened more jail time, even after he paid the "debt" he owes to the law, as set out by the judge. Just as you say. So THEN he left....

This is the best video I have seen on the matter. I love Polanski as a filmmaker, but the act he committed is nothing to be sugar-coated. A great talent but he needed to face the same sentence as anyone else who would commit the same crime. Quite simple.

His films are one thing, and I adore many of them. But he needs to pay his price. No excuses!

That it has been confirmed by the probation department that the intercourse was consensual and nothing but a classic honey trap, set up by mother! That this "girl" had been happily giving her consent right and left, just like her mother, who had given birth at the age of 14. You just mindlessly repeat all those lies, a typical media pawn.

@SomeGuyYeah007 - probation department investigated the case closely, and found that she was lying. They flatly state that the sex was consensual, and the young lady was, I quote, "not only mature but willing", specially emphasizing "lack of coercion by the defendant". Time to acknowledge the facts, guys. Gailey/Geimer was a little (now is a big) liar and perjurer. All the documents confirm this.

@MovieBlogTV: yes, he DID serve the agreed-upon time. If you are "familiar" with the real facts, you should know this. You should also know that the medical report showed NO TRACE of anything, defines the lady as "adult female" and flatly refutes all of her conflicting accusations. Also, that the probation report states that the young lady was "MATURE AND WILLING", and that this is the ONLY official conclusion of the facts of the case.
