Part of the mission of RapidTech is to use the success of its educational program and its scientific resources to create economic development opportunity. RapidTech helps educational institutions and industry capitalize on its growing knowledge and experience base in the rapidly changing world of additive manufacturing, reverse engineering, and rapid prototyping. RapidTech is an educational entity that is part of Saddleback College and funded in part by the National Science Foundation. RapidTech assists businesses, educational institutions, entrepreneurs and community-based organizations in developing new products and designs using innovative rapid prototyping technologies, additive manufacturing, and reverse engineering. Students gain invaluable experience while collaborating on real-world projects with aerospace, medical device, automotive, consumer products and art-animation industries.As students learn, grow and succeed they help their employers do the same and the economy improves as a result.
