Secchi Day on Beaver Lake is held in Northwest Arkansas annually, usually the third Saturday in August. This is when citizen scientists launch from points all over the lake to sample sites at the same time using a Secchi disk to get a reading on clarity in the water. They also get water samples that are tested in the lab. These readings help us monitor the health of this lake, the primary source of drinking water for Northwest Arkansas.
