I dunno... I'd tend to say "fake", because "Fact or Faked" on SyFy had a video fairly similar to this last week, and they showed how it was done with overlaying two videos and adding fades. The way it changes shape before it disappears might trump that theory, but I'm curious as to why it pauses before it steps out into the open.
