This clip shows Muster hitting tennis balls while lying in the wooden bench after being hit by a drunk driver going the wrong way.

Translation of Muster's words about the accident.

He went to the boot/trunk, took his tennisbag, he already had it on the shoulder. When a drunk driver hit him with about 100 km/h

He worked for 5 1/2 months to get fit again,

It's in German, but the pictures alone say more than enough.

  • Muster's backhand was his weaker side.

  • muster is a fucking monster. one of the greatest fighters in tennis history

  • The guy was a beast....bottom line. I cant think of many tennis players that would've subjected themselves to that kind of pain and physical therapy.

  • @BuddhaShiva1 Nadal against Muster both with their best form would be very interesting for the audience. For the players it would be horrible to play against a mirror.

Wer so leidenschaftlich wie Muster trainiert hat wird Nummer eins. Wer es nachmacht wird es erleben dürfen.

  • Muster was a fucking beast. He was so physically fit, mentally tough, moved well. Muster is my favorite fighter / grinder player of all time. He had the mentality that to beat him you had to kill him. He would fight on every point and was a monster on clay. Thomas Muster AKA BEAST.

  • its amazing that he's still playing challengers!

  • What a roll model for against all odds! Eight years later he would finally get back & win the Lipton Ericsson hard court tournament in Miami. A true Champ & Ironman.

  • The Nadal of the late 80's and early 90s.

  • @MisterCrazyLegs Completely agree. Muster had one of the best backhands ever and he would have been one of the greatest ever if he had been able to develop a better service game.

  • Zuruck kommen war viellecht sein starkste leistung ! Sehr gute Tennis spieler.

  • as a kid, I saw one of his practice sessions live and frequently saw his matches on TV..he played and fought like a besieged German Panzer unit during the last days of Berlin or something! It was do or die for him for sure!
