  • darlynn12 thank you for watching the video. I have never added food coloring but I am sure just a few drops wouldn't make that big of difference. By now you have probably tried it, I'm sorry for not responding sooner. If you or anyone reading this uses the stenciling method, I would sure love to see the results. Let me know how the foold coloring worked. I just used cinnamon to make the color gingerbread.

  • I did a whole tray of doughart candy canes using a cookie cutter and did cook it for about 7 hours. They came out great! Is there any trick to making the cooked surface extra smooth...like kneading longer or adding more oil while kneading or any tricks like that? Thanks! I love my candy cane doughart!

  • @wrig9405 I have been trying to post a comment to your question but this is not working for some reason. Just in case this one goes through, I have suggested for you to use more water such as 2 cups instead of 1 and 3/4 cups. I wish I could e mail you are you on facebook by any chance? If two cups doesn't do it then add a little more each time until you get the right consistency that you want.

  • Hi, just wondered how long to cook the doughart in the oven. Thanks for the great video. I can't wait to try it out.

  • wrig9405 you are so very welcome, I just know you will love the results. I usually set my oven on 200 degree's and depending on the quantity and thickness, timing can range anywhere from 4 hours to 8. Just one item about 1 inch thick takes mine the four hours and several items twice as long. Good luck and if possible I would love to see what you make. I cancelled my website since no one was going there. Thanks so much for writing.

  • Love your gingerbread men, you inspired me to do a cross with salt dough, right now I am baking it!!! Thank you so much!!!

  • I loved your videos on salt dough! I was so sad when I tried to go to your website and couldn't get through. Will you be doing more videos or do you have another website? You should definitely do more! I'm looking at selling salt dough creations as gifts at the flea market and would love to learn more techniques from you!

  • Can you food coloring when making the dough? Or would it mess up the consistency?
