I personally studied under Maestro Uppman for four years at Manhattan School of Music, and I can personally attest to his voice being in tremendous shape even into his eighties! Moreover, he was a kind and wise soul, and I miss him very much. I hope one day I am fortunate enough to do justice to his teachings through my singing.

Damn, these are some amazing voices!

Gedda's sense of comedy is just wonderful!

Theodore Uppman was one of the greatest artists of time. His voice remained beautiful well into his 70's.

You're right. No wonder, Phyllis told me, Nicolai is one of her favorite singers.
-
Gedda's diction is pretty spectacular as well (and English was not his native language!).

Thanks for posting this delightful video! Would it be great fun to see them in a complete production? (I don't mind that in English at all).
Mr. Uppman was the original barihunk. These days, the opera houses are full of so called barihunks, yet how many of them are up to his standard ?

Yes, I also wish that a whole performance would have been made.

What is this from? Is this by any chance from the Bell Telephone hour that features a number of other ensembles (with Gedda, Curtin, and others)?
