@spoonr47 Oh hell naw! Lol I know you didn't just say that. I usually don't get butt hurt over these things, but modern day boxing is obviously an influential part of basically every other art. Muay Thai didn't start out with ducking, proper hooks, and even a straight cross for that matter. Just Look at the old school Muay Thai and you'll see that the stance not only wouldn't allow effective punching, but with the hands up in that position there was really no way to defend properly as well.

@dss103 LOL other way round, Boxing uses Muay and Sanda punches. Not that it matters who came first, it really doesnt matter. It's who goes down first and who stays standing that matters.  Remember that.

@fightinggymsweden I guess you missed the fact that sanda was developed by the chinese military (waaaaay after muay boran was developed). Sure, it has borrowed heavily from both traditional wushu and gungfu - so has most martial arts. But it was developed LATER than muay boran. You might also know that gungfu is said to have originally been developed from kalarippayattu by buddist monks going from India to China.

sanshou/sanda is much older than muay thai. Go and study the chinese martial arts liberary. Sanshou/ Sanda came from different kung fu styles. You can make 100 of other similar styles of muay thai from those different styles of kung fu.

@elevat0r123 dude round house kicks are there in every martial art. so is knees to the mid section and face. just cause they have similar techniques doesnt mean one martial art ripped off another. we all have the same bodies so the techniques will become similar. so that was a sanda kick not muay thai.

god u fucking muay thai douchbags. ur like the bjj fighters from brazil. u must accept the fact that U CANT WIN EVERY TIME. whenever i come across a video where muay thai loses the thai fans flip out sayin "thats not muay thai" or "he's not from thai land". JESUS man the art doesnt matter its the fighter that matters. no art is greater than the other. in this case the sanda fighter was just better (and he was using pure sanda techniques). stop being so proud and arrogant for gods sake.
