Go vegan! Not just for animals, but for your health, the environment and the hungry.

"Would you like the beef?

No thanks, I am vegan.

Why are you a vegan?

For many reasons. For my health, for the animals, for the environment and for the hungry.

For your health? Aren't animal products healthy for you?

Not as healthy as you think. Animal products can cause cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, kidney stones and other illnesses. I also read that dairy can cause osteoperosis instead of prevent it, because milk has an acid in it that your body needs calcium to digest, so it takes it out of your bones.

But what about the iron and protein meat has?

Vegans can get all the iron and protein they need from vegetables.

But haven't humans been eating meat for thousands of years? Why should we stop now?

Slavery has also been around for hundreds of years too, it's not until recently that it became banned. Also, up until 100 years ago, you could legally beat a dog to death.

That's not nice.

I know. Times are changing.

So what about the environment and world hunger? What does that have to do with eating meat?

You need a lot of land to raise farmed animals. Many forests have been destroyed because farmers need the room. These forests are home to millions of animals, and many are going extinct because of deforestation. But, it doesn't take much land to grow vegetables or grains and you can grow more food than animal farms. Also, a lot of grain is grown to feed farm animals when they don't even need it. It's a waste of grain which could be used to feed people instead.
And water is also being wasted. Did you know it takes over 7500 litres of water to produce just a serving of beef. It only takes 141 litres to produce a loaf of bread which would feed more people. Did you know that you save more water by not eating a pound of beef than you do by not showering for a year?

What! Wow, that's a lot!

I know. Just think about it. Thousands of animals lives would be saved, poor people would have food to eat, the environment would be cleaner and you would feel very healthy if you went vegan.

Wow, maybe I should go vegan!

That's a good idea."

  • I'm okay with vegetarians but vegans think about this

If you don't milk a cow it dies

  • @JustTwoFanz If you don't milk a cow, her CALF, that the milk was intended for, will drink it :) Like all mammals, cows produce milk to nourish their young - not for humans to drink. Milk is for growing babies! Human milk for human babies, cow milk for calves, dog milk for puppies, and so on :)

  • I'm helping "the world" by consciously choosing to not have children. I think that people that choose not to have children should receive a HUGE tax break. Think of all of the resources that we save, all of the pollution that won't be produced and more space to be had in the class rooms.

  • @MrBeautifulba1 Good on you :) I do not want to have children myself either. The world is over populated enough as it is! I chose, from an early age, that if I ever wanted children I would adopt. There are so many orphans in need of loving homes, I thought why not help them rather than breed more children into the world?

  • i am so used to meat. how am i supposed to change over to vegetarian or vegan without dying of no meat. it even smells good and once i make the choice i would not be able to change back. i dont want to have to be vegan why not vegetarian i could not have cookies if i was vegan think about it. all the treats will be gone. nothing. cause a treat needs eggs. and that is dairy. vegetarian is just as good

  • Well if you don't want to go vegetarian just because you like the taste of meat, there's lots of vegan meat substitutes that taste just like meat that many supermarkets now have.

And you can be vegan and still have treats! I can still eat chocolate, cookies, cake, and other yummy treats, you don't need dairy or egg to make them! I'll PM you some recipes if you like :)

  • @JustTwoFanz if you don't drink milk that was intended for a calf that cow will live to its normal lifespan.. about 20 years .. a dairy cow who is inseminated multiple times and giving birth way more then amount they are suppose to will only live for about 3-4 years.. the calfs they give birth to if girls will have the same life as their mothers. if they are boys then they are usually at a day old tied up to be starved so they turn into white flesh for veal :(

  • @veggiegirl142 But not GOOD chocolate, cookies, cakes, & other yummy treats...

  • many forsets are also destroyed to farm veggies, dumbass. The coarse, rocky mold shit fed to cows, etc. cannot be eaten by humans. Eat pig slop, hmmm? And guess what?Throw a cow into the woods. Lets see it dead after a day or two. Answer me on my channel, I can answer any questions you have. Or arguments.

  • vee-gan. Ha! ANd all your facts are wrong, I could counter them, but I cant post a link.. Damb that rule...

  • @lynnelaw Meat tasted better than veggies, & I cook meat w/o seasonings, I like it better than with. We dont eat meat for the taste of veggies, idiot...

  • @lynnelaw Actually, it does taste good, maybe just a little salt is all that's needed to be really really delicious. Also, that argument stands for you too. Eating vegan food without salt would be not so tasty.

  • @veggiegirl142 I actually care if it's meat or not.

  • @veggiegirl142 i am vegetarian now.

  • @paigebrumby The reason that meat smells good is because of the seasoning that we put it, not because of the meat itself. Imagine that you boil pork, beef or chicken, do they taste good? Not at all! Whereas vegetables, they still taste good even you just boil them.
