I think one more thing will stand in the Giants way the year Cowherd is talking about. SB 43 goes to THE STEELERS for #6. Or as Colin once described the Steelers if they were a band they would be - GWAR

Here we are years later and there's talk of Plax possibly going back to the Giants again when he gets out of prison. At the time I was more worried about losing Pierce than Burress, but Plaxs' absence screwed the Giants in 08, Pierce dropped out with the neck injury next year.

I agree with williebuyoff below. The Giants were steback due to the loss of Plaxico. He was always double-teamed and once he shot himself it was like giving the opposing defense another man.
