@UPRalex The new 5.0 mustangs have 11:1 and I just boosted one with 7.5lbs, It made 580rwhp. Boost and hich compression can be happy and safe together but the tuning window of safety is very narrow.

@rodeheavers if u had 10 compresion ur motor would prob blow, a stroker motor built for boost should be 8.5:1 to 9:5 at max. a all motor should be 10-11.

@MrSilent937 For sure, they are way capable, we have a budget 347 we did that makes 399 through an AOD and has gone 10.73@3300lbs.

@rodeheavers i know ppl here in dayton pulling 400-500hp all motor on 331 & 347

@mannyman84 So does your mommy!!

Hey, handy manny, why don't you just stop watching the mustang videos if you hate them so much.
-
@rodeheavers nope, they still suck

what gear ratio?
wouldnt a 4v have 3 more cams than a ohv 1 cam pushrod motor? im not testing you becuase i know nothing of the new motors, but wouldnt 4 cams be able to open and close valves faster, being higher compression is more attainable? Ya like old school rods had there drag 11compresson with a root style 5lb blower on them.

@UPRalex There is no doubt the newer design helps to obtain a high compression/boost combo, the 4V part of the motor has nothing to do with how fast the valves open and close, the ramps and timing events of a particular camshaft decide the opening/closing rates/times. It is common practice to build a boosted motor with lower compression mainly for safety and the performance aspect of being able to introduce MORE air/fuel into a larger cavity creating a bigger explosion.
