corporations want to disseminate ultra-violent, misogynistic, materialistic garbage because it's profitable, self-destructive to the community, obfuscates revolutionary consciousness, and gets eaten up by kids in the suburbs. This perpetuates false stereotypes that further feed media-generated paranoia and hysteria among the middle class and reinforce their fear of the poor and people of color.
