because where i live has a universal system....my private health insurence is affordable and I have AMAZING coverage....unless you lived where I live, you would not imagine how stress free being ill can be...and i live in what is described as a developing country. As a by the way, I worked in both the public and private health care systems in Australia and UK

most of you people are morons. if you guys could think for yourselves you would see that big govt. and a universal healthcare is a bad idea. why in the hell would anyone want the govt in control of everything. get off of your lazy asses and go to work. now i can understand seniors and disabled people needing medicare and medicaid, but able bodied people need to stop blaming everyone for their problems and suck it up and do what it takes to support themselves and their family.

I'm for national health care, BUT THE CLINTONS' PLAN - KEEPING *ALL* THE PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANIES INVOLVED - WOULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE BUREAUCRATIC *DISASTER* - AND PEOPLE COULD *STILL* HAVE BEEN DENIED PAYMENT FOR INDIVIDUAL INSTANCES!

ONE *GOOD* UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER PUBLIC NATIONAL HEALTH CARE PLAN FOR *ALL* CITIZENS IS THE ONLY WAY TO BEGIN.

And then we use what works best in other universal national health care countries and skip any shortcomings.
