It's "ironic" that in all "years" of "watching" GOPs you haven't noticed Obama's double talk or misleading tactics, even though some have made HEADLINES.

I believe Obama is in many ways geniune, but he's also created a successful brand thru a successful campaign that doesn't rely on only on good intentions, but the ability to unite and mobilize voters.

You're working under the false assumption that genuineness and political success are irreconcilable. After years of watching the Republicans using their brand of phony down-to-earthism with great success, I can't really blame anyone for thinking this is true, but the fact is, it is not.

Indeed, not all that helps a campaign is a campaign trick. That O.'s words somehow reflect positively upon himself should not lead you to believe they are anything less than sincere.

It's not about being cynical, Marquisde. It's politics. It's about following his campaign and knowing that he is a politician.

His focus is positive, yes, but not naive. He needs to win the general election, he can't w/o keeping the party united.
