@vrmataka I'll bet they tasted great with coconut milk. I'm going to try that as a special in my tearoom! Lovely idea. Thanks.

@learn2bake Thank you!!!

@TheNicki1616 If you roll a scone mix you will crush all the air out. Not a good idea. Flapjacks you should just press down gently with a spoon. Brownies should just pour into the tray.

Mine are not turning out very good. I am using butter sticks, which I chill and then dice up into small chunks, which I mix with my flour/sugar mixture. It's not very crummy, and after I add the milk, I can never roll it into a ball; it seems like there's too much flour (but I follow the recipe- I think!)
So my main problem is that they are too dry, could it be because of my butter? Thanks

@MrLightPanda Try to get some spreadable butter - it's usually mixed with some buttermilk so it's softer. If you want to use just butter then make sure it is left out the fridge for a while so it is soft. You're problem is probably that the butter is too cold and so is not mixing well. Check you've got the weights correct too. Keep trying - i've been making scones every day for 25 years and they still go wrong sometimes!

You are meant to place the scones toegther so they help each other rise but anyway.

@Irirshness Make sure you are using self raising flour. If your mixture is quite wet or runny add more flour. It should be a stiff dough. Handle the dough as little as possible. Do not press down too hard when you shape the dough. Hope this helps.
