Half-Life 2 Beta - The Canals

This is what the Canals looked like in Half-Life 2 Beta.

Theres nothing too interesting about this part in Half-Life 2 Beta really. But anyways, you can see there used to be Bullsquids in the Canals and the Bullsquids used to actually swim! Awesome. Theres also used to be a helicopter chase in the Half-Life 2 Beta Canals but i guess they took that off for some reason (Although that would have been cool to have a helicopter chase). Also, the Beta Combine Helicopter looks extremely different and interesting (Even though i kinda prefer the Retail Combine Helicopter). Other than that, there wasn't too much interesting things about the Beta Canals. Oh and Barnacles were a pain in the ass to kill in Half-Life 2 Beta (In this level at least).

This seemed like really boring gameplay. I mean, I'm sure some of that has to do with it being a very early version (though more complete than many other beta levels), I'm glad this idea was scrapped in favor of something more like Route Kanal.
