http://www.bushido.ca Here is the Torque Lock /kimura SHOULDER lock from the cross side position. This is not a standard kimura but rather a walk around shoulder crank.

  • I'm pretty sure Nogueira created this? Am I right? But still lots of credit to u guys for changing my game!!! BIG TIME

  • Not sure who invented this. I learned this off a Catch Wrestler a few years back. If Nog does it, that is great! We are all here to learn from one another!

  • holy shit ari bolden! long time no sight in vids... congrats on the wedding, and welcome back to the YT world, nice mats are they new?

  • thanks Brett ;-) yep, new mats from our sponsor at bushido...pretty cool!

  • YouTube has a video of Nogueira teaching this too.

  • this is kind of a 2 edge sword, on one hand it looks like it'd work on a big strong guy because of the amount of pressure you put on the arm, but i think if you mess it up they could take your back pretty easy

  • This is Catch Wrestling. For Maximum efficiency, go for the Kimura first from cross side. If he defends, go for the bicep crush (compression lock) from cross side. If he defends that, do the sit out like in this video and go for the bicep crush (compression lock) from that position. If he defends that, go for the the shoulder lock finish from that same position (the finish in this video).

  • @easy18big You can use it when opponent grab own shirt , gi or even other hand to defend kimura.

  • man - that looks like it hurts. You can tell at 2:04 when he lowers his shoulder to the mat, the guy almost tapped right there! You know that's tight.

Ari Bolden, you're the man! You've taught me more about jiu jitsu than any instructor I've had.

  • youd have to do that pretty quick though because as soon as you put that first arm under and grabed his wrist hed think you were going for an armbar or a kamira

  • @HardymarkTheKid key lock is easier to avoid then a kimura and this is one of the easiest forms iv seen of the kimura and iv wrestled for about 12 years now

  • @JSPUFC , I think he created it, but I'm not sure. However, he does use it with much success. He even shows this one in his instructional dvd. I've studied Nogueira's guard system, and in my opinion, it is probably the most effective no-gi guard system outside of the rubber guard / double bagger.

  • could also go into a biceps crush variation if your a nasty bugger...

  • i like this move i'll try it as soon as i can get to the gym

  • how come nobody uses this in mma matches?
