Just my thoughts on the Freedom movement / Libertarianism. I don't claim to be an expert on this and your discussion is welcome as always.

  • People do take the government to court regular in this country. Generally the person who goes to courts spends lots and lots of money and then looses because the courts are no longer functioning. Why should an organization succeed where an individual doesn't.

  • @bunsh1ch1 I think non profit legal orgs succeed more than individuals because they have greater resources/skills/experience and focus it on winning the important/easier cases in order to build and publicize legal precedent. I agree the court system is also partially manipulated, but less so IMO due to lifetime appointment of judges and the jury process. IMO, winning the presidency is the most corrupted and difficult process - altho a pres campaign at least educates the public to lib ideas.

  • You made the point that if we don't stand up for OTHER people's rights, we can't expect the govt we hire to stand up for OURS. I don't follow your logic there. If I hire a govt to protect my rights, why can't I expect they do that, regardless of whether or not I'm fighting to protect the rights of others?

    .

This marks the first time I've found one of your videos unsatisfactory. Normally you're bang on, but this was a disaster. No offense meant.

  • @drutter IMO it is not just a matter of "I" hired the government to protect my rights. Other people paid more and worked harder/smarter for the govt to oppress you. Whichever side puts in the best effort tends to win I think.

  • Yeah, I think we can be more effective at the local and state level.

  • Are you a Libertarian?

  • Pt. 2 People managing established systems that affect their lives..that is government. I would rather have the people of a city decide how their hospital works then a corporation. The government is the people. The people are the government.

Were all in this together..if we work together we can achieve more. People working together is government.

  • Pt. 1 What about health care? Supposed everyone was free from the government's ploys and grew their own food, build their own devices, were totally self sufficient..a Libertarian's dream. But what about serious illness? With millions of people getting sick all the time, you need hospitals. Every family can't have their own personal surgeon. You need health facilities..which need to be managed. But by who? Well, the people should be in control of their own health, so the people should manage it.

  • Thank you.

  • this is why i support voluntaryism in all forms... & oppose the state in all forms

  • @miserkocho Yes! A proper definition of social Anarchy! Thank you!

  • sorry, no. choosing something freely does not give you free reign of the reprocussions...

you could freely choose to leave africa to work in america, where you would get lots of riches, and end up a slave as many did...
