I'm extremely interesting in becoming an adoption counselor once I graduate with my bachelor's degree in Family and Child Sciences in one year. I'm about to start volunteering at a local adoption agency to get a feel for the work and I have been an assistant preschool teacher for the past 5 years. Do you have any advice about what else I can do to get the job or any advice in general?

Shame on all of you for taking advantage of women/girls in vulnerable positions, your jobs are to talk women into adoption to best serve your pay check providers the ADOPTERS, you really really should be shamed of yourselves, you have no idea the damage you are causing a mother and her child for life all for a paycheck money is the root to all evil that is for sure.
RJ not ALL ADOPTION is about MONEY. Our counselors are not driven to get women to relinquish their children. There are places that seek to profit from placing children for adoption - this is not one of them. I know that many people have been agrieved by adoption - and Family Resource Center has formed many lasting relationships with birth mothers, children placed for adoption, and adoptive parents. Adoption is not without loss or challenges - conducted with respect - adoption works for all.
