This is a "stage 1" MOD of the OEM exhaust on a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. In this "stage" the cover is removed, the end pipe is sawed off and holes are drilled in the baffle caps. This is in an attempt to make the sound louder and deeper.

  • nice video man, been looking to do this for ages, and now im gonna man up and try, wish me luck!!

  • @Rogie3210 Sounds good, Let me know how it turned out!

  • I just removed the plates (drillout) bought a 12 inch 5/16 drill bit , drilled out 6 holes in each baffel (your option) Ground about 1/16 off the edges of the end plate to let the sound out,pop rivited the plate back in place, sprayed flat back on rivits, looks STOCK but sounds GREAT no poping or backfire, just the right sound not offensive...dont understand all the cutting and buggering other videos show...tips look completly stock but louder......

  • @lueyluey3417 VERY cool! I am happy to hear that you are happier with your modification (I'd like to see pictures). I was going to debaffle completely, but my bike was hit by a van (while parked), so now I will replace the exhaust with some cobra swept (I will need a fuel manager though), but this MOD is very simple and does give good sound.

  • i was actually going to chop out the whole center of the inside of my pipe but i guess i can try that first

  • @MrHartford1990 Yeah this is less drastic than a full debaffle, but its a good step to take before (just in case). You can always continue on and debaffle after this, but if you debaffle, you can't put them back :). Good luck on your project!

  • I took the advice if 'lueyluey' and drilled the exhausts. I drilled 8 10mm holes and it sounds mean! No popping just a deep rumble. Looks completely stock.

  • Awesome

  • Thanks a lot for the videos! Planning on doing this to my 2011 vulcan 900 I just picked up! Oh, and AWESOME music taste my friend!

  • thanks for the advice i just went to town and did a full debaffle and love it, my honda cm400t sounds like a buel
