  • Quite the linguist is Alma Gluck! Without going into the intricacies of the differences between Scottish Gaelic and the Scottish language, I think this record reveals a convincing Scots accent. Gluck also sings in fluent French, Italian, Hebrew, Yiddish, and perhaps Russian. Did she ever record in German? The singing itself is, as always, lovely.

  • "Du, du liegst mir im Herzen" and believe perhaps a few more, with tenor Paul Reimers, some of which are very nice. Thank you, Nate!

  • The performance of timeless beauty, glorious expression and great pleasure. Thank you, dear Doug.

  • @meltzerboy Interesting, that she also performed Russian repertoire in German :-) For instance, her Snegurochka by Rimsky-Korsakov is amazing.

  • elocuction lessons from jean brodie perhaps?

  • Wonderful diction, lovely tone and a nice feel for the material. She also sang in Spanish. Too bad that Victor in its great wisdom never brought Gluck and McCormack together in the studio. Thanks Doug.
