I don't believe Obama is promoting a "bipartisan spirit" any more than I believe he is willing to listen to the American people. He said that he doesn't want another year of "partisan wrangling" which translated means he wants the Republicans to shut up and go against their principles.
Hopefully the Democrats are going to get trounced in the mid-term elections. Because they refused to work with the Republicans in the first year, why should they believe him now?
