GoW3 - Sawed Off is OP [Uses real game data for proof] [Epic banned me for this]

[9/28/11] EPIC bans my account for posting this information, and deletes the 200+ post thread. Seems, they already know they fucked up, and since I'm a modder and used in-game files, they can ban for that LOL.

Now, we can see the Sawed Off Shotgun's stats are far more powerful.

How? (Incase you didn't want to see/overlook the stats).

SAWED OFF has 800 Damage. The GNASHER has 500 Damage.
SAWED OFF has a Damage Arc. The GNASHER does not.
SAWED OFF has 1 DamageMods. The GNASHER has decimals, making it's damage lower.

Note: Your character in multiplayer has 600 health. Every single (GearGame.GearPawnMP) has 600 Health (Locust, AND COG).

So, say we shot the Gnasher and got 500 Damage at Melee Range and got 500 Damage (500x1 = 500). Enough to make the enemy "red".

You shoot a sawed off-shotgun at melee range, you deal 800 damage (800 x 1 = 800). You go over 600, and gib him; killing him.

Shoot a Gnasher at Short Range (1000 ue units), deal 500 damage (500 x .75 = 375). This explains why it takes 3-4 shots to kill someone.

Shoot a Sawed Off Shotgun at Short Range. Deal 800 Damage (800 x 1 = 800). Oh, look at that you killed someone again.

so...we're just totally ignoring the fact that the gnasher has WAY more range then, I see?

Look...I don't like the DBS either. I would prefer we all just had gnashers as our shotguns. But if you want to make an honest comparison of these guns, or anything in general at all for that matter, then you can't just take pros of one thing and not the other. All you really did here was say "the DBS is WAY stronger at melee and close range than the gnasher"...which we all already knew.

@DeanOMiite No. The fact that the Sawed Off has 800 damage..All the time. While the Gnasher has ranges, and damage modifiers. The Sawed Off is just 800 damage all the time.

Thank you for posting. In my opinion the ban they put upon you was worth every word you posted. People need to know exactly how unfair and unskillful the Sawed-Off shotgun is. And you provided us with cold hard irrefutable data and evidence that cannot be denied. EPIC really fucked up bad on this one. Its so obvious the only reason for this joke of a gun, it was to gain more appeal from the common gamer. Unfortunately, they are going to lose the hard fans that have been there since Emergence Day

I didn't think it was possible to hate an in game feature more than the noob tube/ one man army spamming in MW2, but the SoS manages easily.

I heard nothing but Sawed Offs being shot and names popping up on my screen in a match of KOTH. Im glad they made a Retro Lance because in GoW2 the Lancer/Hammerburst could not win a shotgun duel it was always this math. Gnasher > Hammerburst/Lancer then with the new gun. RetroLancer > Gnasher/ Sawed Off it does me great killing ppl who use the Sawed off finally with a Rifle instead of fighting Fire w/Fire.

Don't forget to make it clear the Gnasher requires some, or alot of precision aiming, where as Sawed-Off requires no such precision..

i cant believe there is a complaint about this. how is it a shotgun battle when after one shot the one with the sawed off has to run away and reload? how is it a shotgun battle when the sawed off has 4 bullets (5 second reload in between) and the gnasher has 16 with a fast reload? how is it a shotgun battle when the one with the sawed off has to be touching the one with the gnasher in order to get a kill while 3 shots from the gnasher can down anyone instantly.

@epiccog sorry man, that is all how it's meant to work. It doesn't require perfect aim, and "melee range" just means "close"

Also if you purchased the Epic Edition the artbook has a statement from Lee Perry that the SoS is the "anti-Gnasher"
