You can install Non-free Drivers in Linux Ubuntu you click system / administration / Additional Drivers , and install ubuntu-restricted-extras , and this also works in Linux Mint...

Hey Archlinux provides NVIDIA drivers by just running a simple command. Thanks for the video, I was looking for answers on the whole bsd vs linux thing.

it is much more complicated only on some distros. for example- creating rpm's from spec file is easy, same as compilling using portage

In Linux you can also compile from source but its much more complicated then in Freebsd.
In Freebsd you also can download pre-compiled packages with the pkg_add command.
