Sunday Steam-up

It's Dawn Goold's 30th birthday and a perfect day for joining family and friends steaming through the English countryside on the back of J.R.Goold's Sentinel steam waggon.
Thanks to driver Justin and stoker Gary for their expert engineering on what turned out to be the hottest day of 2008 so far!

Our steam waggon as featured in this film average 45 miles with 165 gallons of water (Sentinel would claim 55 - 60 miles!). We added extra capacity with a removable 165 gallon tank on the back of the lorry so we can go 80 miles before another water stop.

I have a friend with a 1911 Stanley, it is a wonderful car! I am glad I had the opportunity to be around one. :)

Thanks for your kind comments. The Stanley is 1911/10 horse power. The Sentinel is an S Type 3 way tipper built in 1933.
