Needs no more fuel? Come on, did these guys never take thermodynamics? Neat idea if they are going to replace speed bumps, but labeling it "free energy" isn't really accurate.

Not even that though, as they are being put in place of speed bumps (which take energy anyway) and places like downhill stop areas and highway offramps. These are places where the energy would be lost anyway in the friction of braking. It just takes energy that would be lost anyway.

Unless, of course, the future brings about electric cars with regenerative braking. Then this would only be worthwhile for speed bump replacements.

It's not really "free". The vehicles are being "charged" for the amount of energy it takes to drive over it. Which is okay. Kind of a "spread out the cost" idea. Pretty cool. Especially if it really doesn't bump your too much when you drive over it.
