The Final Challenge of The Challengers on September 24th, 1990. With the wagers placed, does Larry retain his championship and start another path for the next Ultimate Challenge, or will does he walk away a happy man?

The Challengers lasted until August 31st, 1991. It was a Ron Greenberg Production, and was based off Greenberg's 1970s hit, The Who, What, Where Game. Greenberg was also part of the Barry/Enright staff, and had also created The Big Showdown. The Challengers was taped every Friday and distributed quickly throughout the nation to keep up with the headlines received from Newsweek. Dick mentions in this vid that players don't have to take the cash as a credit card from MasterCard, Citibank and Visa, instead take it as a cash option. And according to all-time champion Stan Newman, all players chose to take their winnings in cash.

  • Larry would go on to win a total of $88,600 before being defeated.

He would later finish in the negatives in the tournament of champions

    against you know who.

  • wasn't larry defeated on the next episode? (i just found an old pr newswire article about the challengers on highbeam research, and it said his grand total was $88,600

  • In Chicago, it was the Challengers @ 3 followed by Jeopardy! @ 330 on WLS-TV. It was a gr8 power hour!!!

  • what station is this taped off of?

  • A LOT of game show reruns had outdated information!

  • craig calm down he already has enough requests

  • Can you please post the episode of "Greed: The Series", where Melissa Skirboll and Curtis Warren is having a chance to play for $1 Million in the "Million Dollar Moment"??

  • Sez you.

  • THe current events questions would make it not a viable show to air in reruns. Though there were fewer topical questions on the later episodes I have seen.
