I have a Mitsubishi wd-52528 it has a netflix image from a x-box 360 burnt into the screen. Could that be a static dust problem on the screen itself?

@omes7922 Sorry. I ran out of space in my babbling of history of games. No, modern consoles will almost definitely not cause screen burn and most modern TVs are very resistant to burn-in. I can only assume that she's talking about burn in when she says "lose its color" and turn "white and gray." Of course, being a mom, she'll have veto power regardless of what anyone on youtube tells you :(

@AlisionIsUnreal This still Dosent Answer my question but thanks anyways... :(

@omes7922 I'm guessing that your mom grew up in the age of Atari. Atari systems were notorious for burning screens (because of relatively static patterns held in place for a long time). But newer systems have more complex, ever changing graphics, the TVs are better (though plasmas can still burn in and LCDs can fatigue... though a fatigued LCD screen can be corrected with a proper screen saver... I have a monitor that fatigues easily. New plasmas shift images slightly to prevent burn.

This is good info! One thing that would have been interesting to try is to take a camera that lets you set the exposure manually, and in a dark room, set the shutter speed and aperture and take a shot of the screen (lit blue or whatever other solid color) before you clean and then the same after to demonstrate the difference in brightness, etc. I know you can't do it now, but if someone else is reading this and plans to do it, it would be an interesting demonstration!

awesome thanks..now off to clean my 60" Mitsi..its got 2 big webs showin on the screen. ;{...still a killer tv..

a DLP television set is just way too expensive anymore compared to the flat screen televisions today. you can get a 70 inch for about 2/3 the price of the same size DLP and it'll be brighter, more energy efficient, and you will never have clean the inside to make it look better. Oh and did I mention they are a thousand times lighter?

@omes7922 no that's not true
THANKS...GRACIAS !!!

@jimmyjohn00 Yea I know what you mean. I was ready to buy a new one. Now I just clean it once in a while. However now I don't have a excuse YET to buy a flat panel. and with my wife I need that excuse.

I have a big-screen LCD HD TV that's not projection, and am getting what looks like a "lake" of dark matter gathering on the right side of the screen...almost like liquid spilled on the screen while the set was laying on its back. However, it's on the inside, not the outside. Do you think this is something that could be cleaned too? Or is this something a professional might need to look at?
Thanks! Keep up the great vids!
