  • Sounds like you have a bit too much distortion/gain going on and it makes it sound kinda robotic/fuzzy but thats decent quality for a raw recording. So you had the sm57 directly plugged into your computer? is it through USB? I'm trying to get my hands on an sm57 that I don't have to plug into a mixer or compressor or anything and can just plug it right in through usb like my condenser mic does

  • well, it was plugged right into the sound card. So to get any volume I basically blasted the mic, and it's just bare bones strait into the vid file.

  • its the tube channel?, you have the stock tubes????

  • no, 3 Tungsol 12AX7's and an EH Silver Series 12AT7 in the back

  • that is a very good recording, i closed my eyes and acutally thought that a scream or heavey drums were going to punch right through. i would liek to know what recording prog u used? and also ur mixer, any ew plugins? gates or compression things like that ty very much

  • Well, as par as recording program...nothing. Just made the web cam program to use the sound card, which at the time had the SM 57 plugged in through an adapter, no preamp. No mixer. No plugins. As far as effects that was just the amp dry.

  • very nice, billy, very satanic. satan will definitely be noticing you! ;-)

  • Hey, whats ur opiniom on the x2n? can u tell me the pros and cons?

  • u look like a chubby zakk wylde... no offence :)

  • This has like no gain...

  • Nice tone mate, you have almost exactly the same set up as me haha. V2, tungsols, G12k100's (better than v30 in my opinion). Does the EH AT7 make much difference? Think my power tube is still stock.

  • @TBMsGuitarGod no i literally mean the x2u, its made by Shure, its a very nice product that ive been using for a good solid year now and i love it.

  • @Wrathofa7x Perhaps you mean the Line 6 UX2? That's what I use... but normally I don't even need to use my amp with the Pod Farm program it comes with.

  • you need to power the mic, otherwise it sounds dead, like in this recording, great playing, but ya need a preamp, or the adapter, otherwise not enough sound

  • hey man they have an adapter for usb, its called the x2u, im tryin to get one right now so i dont need to use the sound card but this mic sounds awesome!

  • do you have record this with a mic or with the XLR Recording frim the amp?
