  • Marketing to other countries is important but what about a breakdown of how to market in the different provinces and territories of Canada; I find this would be helpful because the majority of students will start their careers in Canada. This will help people also who want to start their own business in a different province. Chris Scott MRK460MT

  • @jesselong4444 in hong kong "some high-rise residential buildings omit all floor numbers with "4", e.g. 4, 14, 24, 34 and all 40–49 floors, in addition to not having a 13th floor. As a result, a building whose highest floor is number 50 may actually have only 35 physical floors."

  • MRK460: Jlong, I have a group at school that I'm working with. We decided to exchange email addresses to pass information. . They asked why I have the number 4 in my email address 4 times. I told them that 4 is my lucky number. They replied that in their country (China) the number 4 is a very unlucky number and means death or the devil.

  • A few years back I went on a trip to Panama. The weather was beautiful and the people were very friendly. I learned that the men are extremely protective of their woman. The women there are very attractive and flirtatious. Which is not a good thing at all because if you even look at a guys girl they will chase you down… I learned this from experience. Good thing I can run fast!!!

  • One major thing to know when selling to Sri Lankan Tamils is to be very friendly. We don’t really care about the facts and essays of information; we would usually buy if the seller is nice. Sriskaran K.MRK460MT

  • Here are a few more facts about Italy based on my own personal experience, First impressions are very important so you have to be respectful, dress appropriately and introduce yourself properly if you want to keep a connection. Although all Italian kiss each others cheek as a way to say hello it is not respectful to do so if you do not know the person, a hand shake is the correct way to introduce yourself.

  • I think learning about the language and customs about the other country is very important in terms of marketing.i strongly agree that 'mother tongue marketing' forms a very essential part to promote business. If we know know more about the different cultures then it is easy to understand them and easy to business with them.

  • Here's another country that I did research on: Switzerland -70% of the population speak German -Cheese is very popular to use in different recipes -Most famous dish is Rösti (a grated potato fried in a pancake) -Famous for its music festivals (Montreux Jazz Festival) -It is customary that you, yourself, organize a going away party -Long Lunch Breaks -No smoke detectors in apartments -Only McDonalds has a drive thru -Movies have intermissions Jordan M MRK460-MT
  • Pakistan ranks very high among collective societies as compared to North America which is more of a individual society. In Pakistan, people have close ties with extended families. A lot of times they live together or close to each other. Products and services that are family oriented are preferred. Word of mouth is a great way of marketing products.
