Plot
In colonial era Seoul, 1938, two young men have had a strong sense of rivalry since they were young. Joon-Sik (Jang Dong-Kun) is a Korean man who dreams of following in the footsteps of Olympic marathon gold medal winner Sohn Kee-chung. Tatsuo is a top Japanese marathon runner. They grew up as rivals representing their respective countries.
One day, Joon-Sik falls into trouble and is conscripted into the Japanese army. One year later, Joon-Sik faces Tatsuo who is now a captain for the Japanese military. The two young men are now caught in World War II and go through countless battles stretching from China, Soviet Union and Germany, while inspiring hope in each other.
Notes
1. Filming began October 15, 2010 in Saemangeum, South Korea.
2. Shooting locations will take place in South Korea, China, France, Russia and Latvia.
3. Movie budget is 30 billion Won ($25.5 million).
4. Actress Son Ye-Jin was originally cast as the main female lead Yeon-Hee, but due to scenario changes dropped out of the movie prior to filming.
5. As of January 13th, 2011 - "My Way" has completed 40% of its shooting and is on track for a December 2011 release date in Korea.
6. Filming finished June 12, 2011 in the country of Latvia. The final scene filmed was a fierce battle set during the Battle of Normandy.

Finally a good quality non Hollywood WWII movie! nice to see the war from a different angle.
