Walking and getting up in two full leg casts

I was delighted to find I could walk for short distances on my own. It gave me a lot of freedom around the house.

I totally understand and respect that sentiment. Life is a lot tougher in two full leg casts, but the extra effort is more than offset by the sensation of being like that.

This was a few years ago. I confess I kind of miss it sometimes. It was kind of a surreal time in my life, and people were generally great to me. And I got used to being stared at by people who had probably never seen someone walking in two full leg casts. I don't ever want my legs broken again, but strange as it sounds, I didn't mind wearing the casts. I'm tempted sometimes to relive that part of the experience, but it can be tough getting around.

Car accident. My idiot roommate liked to tailgate and this night he was tailgating someone who was tailgating. The truck in front stopped suddenly, roommate braked and swerved so that his side of the car hit nothing. My side of the car hit the truck, collapsing the leg well and breaking both of my legs. Lucky me, I had to let him drive me everywhere for another few weeks, only now with my legs stuck out in front of me, unable to protect my legs if he hit another truck.
