A cold and crisp Sunday morning's shooting on a private estate near Southampton, ENGLAND.

Here's you chance to join Martin on a typical Sunday morning practise session at our regular shooting ground.

Watch as he starts the morning with some target practise, using a couple of sheep's leg bones from his local Butcher. After a quick cup of coffee to fend off the bitter cold he then switches to distance shooting, lobbing a few rounds of heavy war arrows to land roughly 220 yards away. Join Martin as he wanders back and forth through the rough grass to collect his arrows, then watch as he packs his gear away, using a stringer to un-string his longbow before jumping into his car to return home, content after a good morning's shooting in the unspoilt countryside of Hampshire.

Hope you enjoy the video.

  • haha, the lamb legs-- last nights dinner right??

  • @masterkiter89 Not quite but I wish it had been. :)

  • An excellent video, could you tell me what the length of the arrows used here is please?

  • @markitisthen Yes of course. The shaft is approximately 31" from the base of the nock to the begining of the head.

  • how many arrows does that quiver hold?

  • @zoopcoolapcar Martin's linen arrow bag holds about 30 arrows. Normally this style of arrow bag has a leather spacer disk sewn into the inside of the bag, cut with 24 holes to hold a medieval sheaf of arrows such that their fletchings will not become crushed. Martin's is a simpler design without the disk so it holds a few more.

  • What a better way ta spend a winters morning than shooting a few arrows,

    great video Martin,

  • @bigbowbrum - haha

  • What A Great Archer ....Respect..Well done on the video...I enjoyed it...Thanks Great Job..

  • Smashing video..very artistic! I remember a great thrill of shooting a yew bow near the English line at Agincourt (no I'm not that old) but I was tootling about the place on my Enfield motorycle about 1990 and at the crossroads there was a cafe run by an English chap...he had a range at the back with cedar arrows, bodkins, the lot!...and instead of a latte to finish off you could relive a bit of history. Magic, thanks guys

  • That is a nice war bow.

  • What a great video. Captures the essence of being out in the country on a beautiful morning with your bow. I like the firing at a high arc like you're facing some French mounted knights. And don't think we didn't notice the ballock knife...
