Responsible One is a touching cue with several variations of the Spider-Man theme, proving again that it's a great one, even able to work in the most unexpected places. "Alone" from the first movie was used in the final cut (like in many other scenes, it seems that Raimi liked that cue quite a bit !).

In the final cut, the backyard scene contains less music but what we get is another horrendous mix of a cue from Spider-man, in this case "Getting Through".
Elfman's option here for the romantic theme was simple: playing only his first three notes throughout the film. As Peter and MJ's love is impossible, the theme can't complete itself. We always get those progressive three notes, a musical incarnation of the couple's desire to reach to the other than can't be fulfilled as the last two notes are always omitted. It's only at the very end of the film, when MJ's runs from her wedding away that the Romantic Theme is played fully.
Of course, the tumultuous post-production completely washed off Elfman's approach...

More to come.

  • does anyone know of anyone who the whole movie?

  • is that why theyre not making one?

  • it had the same director but the composer was differnt

  • this was much nicer than Chris's

  • woops my bad..I thought it was for some reason..well thanks for clarifying Aidan

  • 1) These comments have nothing to do with this video.

    2) Christopher Young doesn't have enough original music in Spider-man 3 for there to be a soundtrack.

  • The 3rd one is good..but seeing how it was done by a different director..it just seemed different..I liked 1 and 2 for sure..but 3 was good enough for me..now all I need is the SpiderMan 3 score

  • yay first to comment! But i really like Spiderman one of my fave films. I can't wait to see the 3rd one.
