That's well put,and I'll add this:taxes can be used to improve social security, which is exactly what happens in countries like Sweden,France or Germany. Now,the argument that is so loved in the US is that if people can depend alot on social security, they won't work and economic growth will suffer as a result, combined with permanent stress on social security expenses.Reality shows that that's debatable.I would however say that I rather live in country which tries to take care of its people.

Well stop having kids if you can't afford them assholes! It's called personal responsibility. Stop talking about human rights, start talking about human responsibility! No one is that poor you can't get birth control.

@feedyourmind420 I understand the theory. My question is how does letting the rich keep more money, also mean that the poor lose money? Many claim that a tax cut for the rich is a tax increase on the poor. In what way is that possible?

The idea is that the rich are those who own companies and businesses and hire people, and also that they are the ones that spend the most money in the economy. The theory is if you cut their taxes, they will spend more and hire more employees, growing the market and improving the economy and job prospects for everyone even the poor. In reality, unless your job is selling private jets or yachts, this "trickle down" theory has little actual effect and is just a way for the rich to keep more money

Can someone please explain how a tax cut for the rich, and allowing them to keep more of their own money, funnels money away from the poor that they would never have in the first place?

Or am i right to assume it's meaningless rhetoric
