After Charles Kuralt did a story about my Abba being the only rabbi in South Dakota, the producers of the 1980-1981 revival game show "To Tell the Truth" contacted my father. Sometime in 1981, all three people said they were Rabbi Stephen Forstein.
The other two men were John (or Jon) Mendel, a copywriter for N.W. Ayer Advertising and Robert C. Pritikin, an advertiser and author. I spoke to Robert over the phone, he was a very nice man and very glad I got to speak with him.
The host was Robin Ward and the guests on the show were comedian Nipsey Russell, actress Carole Shelley (way before her starring role in Wicked), television personality Soupy Sales and film critic Pat Collins.
The show was filmed in New York City. This is the first part of the show where three women claimed to be bull rider Jan Edmondson.
My mother says that my dad received the game system and a year's supply of Borax as prizes for being on the show.
The panel names and order tells me this is from the run's 30th week. As such, this aired the week of March 30-April 3, 1981.
