Until I saw the people at end of the video, I was beginning the think the island had been abandoned :)

@JoelMatton Yea, it did look that way, didn't it. I filmed it on an "off" period of the day. There are a few hours each day where all the tour boats are there, where it get's pretty busy. Then in the evening again, when the residents are back from work, they cruise around the road loop on golf carts and scooters to pass the time and interact with their neighbors. I might see the same person go by over a dozen times in a night. It's a bit humorous for us outsiders, but they seem happy with it.

@rreidnauer I 'discovered' Tangier while watching various youtube clips about regional accents. Both regional accents and islands with small populations fascinate me, so I'm quite fascinated by Tangier. Do most/all residents work on the island, or are there people who drive boats to jobs on the mainland? The thing with people riding golfcarts around on the island sounds really cool to me, in sort of a quirky way, haha. Are there any bars on Tangier? Sorry about all the questions :)

@JoelMatton Most the men fish and crab, while the women mostly run the islands restaurants, B&Bs, gift shops, etc. I had a few people tell me some do work on the mainland. No bars on the island. It's bring your own or nothing at all.
I recommend, if at all possible, visiting the island, and stay one night at the very least . (preferably at the Chesapeake House B&B, since it's in the older, quainter part of town, and includes all-you-can-eat dinner and breakfast)
