I completely agree! Mark and I talked about this- what it would be like to not know that in 12 more hours and 37 min we could go home. Counting down the hours was very motivating. To not be able to do that would be a very difficult feeling to deal with I think.
I have been there too... I was a participant in the 5-Days for Youth Homelessness at Gardner College last yr and we slept outside for 5 days in March. 3 of the days the temp reached -18C.
I am also an Outreach worker with the Camrose Open Door and is appreciated when people go through 1-5 nights homeless to raise awareness of what the youth struggle with day in and day out. The only thing that is different is that we know when ours will end... the youth don't know when theirs will end !
