I've always enjoyed the music of Gene Pitney. Not only did he write a lot of big hits for other artists (including "Hello Mary Lou" for Ricky Nelson and "He's A Rebel" for the Crystals), but had a unique singing voice himself. In my opinion the overlooked "Lips Are Redder On You", a snappy love ballad, is his very best song ever. - Here he is, my favorite Teen Idol, singing "Lips Are Redder On You", with film clips from the camp classics "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" (1963) and "Get Yourself A College Girl" (1964). Enjoy! Comments always welcome!
