WOW this is awesome fatdogtavern!!! haha. I had the same thing happen three summers ago but it was no way i could get a video or picture. I was watching sports center early one morning with the door open (screen door closed) and suddenly two cubs appeared at the door.... they scared the shit out of me LOL. I guess i scared them as well when i jumped up because they took off running to mama bear and across the street they went into the woods.

@4lifebloods Bears are not pets, dipshit. It's people like you that end up on TV covered in scars and crying "but it was so cuuuuuuute". This guy did exactly what he should do - admired and respected without encouraging, touching, or worse, feeding it - any of which would have taught it to associate man with food and/or prey, both of which would have endangered *its* life in the future when someone has to shoot it because it attacks people.

@4lifebloods I wanted to be nice, but when he decided to make a move to come inside, I had to put my foot down! Seriously though, you can't get friendly with these guys or they will come back. We had neighbors who had bears close to 1000lbs come by and push in the garage/front doors cause they smelled trash or food cooking. Love living close to them, but you have to keep a barrier for their sake.

@minion6500 I wanted to roll him over and scratch his belly! But Mom was close by and even though I spoke with him for a minute I know that the last thing you want to do is socialize with them at all.

Shooting them is not the answer. This cub is going to grow up and be fearless when it comes to human interaction, and that's because people should scream and yell and scare them away, but that isn't what a lot of them do. We've killed off some of the most beautiful animals from this region, and it's funny how no matter what, the answer people come up with for wild life doing as they do, is to kill them.

@underthemangotreee This cub and his siblings and mom took off like their tails were on fire after we lit off the M-80's. Its been a long time since we've seen them on our property. It is nice to know they are out there and that we live in a nice rural area, but your right in that they need a healthy fear of man. We still do see bears about once a week around the area, while driving or hiking and especially around Great Gorge Golf Course.
