Blue Sharks are one of the most widely-distributed sharks within the planet's oceans, but that doesn't explain how an 8-foot-long Blue Shark was discovered dead in a forest in New Hampshire. The shark, normally found in deep ocean waters, was found in the town of Milton by two men after they smelled something rotting. Milton is located approximately an hour's drive from the Atlantic ocean, and although there is a pond nearby, it is unlikely the shark would be in it for any reason.
One theory is that someone fished the shark on the Atlantic coast, and then realized that a license is required. Out of fear of being charged with a crime, the fisherman dumped the shark to dispose of the evidence.
Authorities are uncertain how long the shark had been in the woods, stating that the summer heat could have sped-up the decomposition. Police are asking residents if they saw any vehicles parked along the side of the road in that area, and that without eyewitness tips, they most likely won't get to the to bottom of the mystery.
