  • try again.this is not anywhere near the world record of 1496lbs. cuaght off of the coast of Nova Scotia,Canada.

  • Last time I looked Nova Scotia was not in the Pacific ocean?

  • 660 isnt the world record bluefin

  • Could you plese write to the IGFA and tell they have made a mistake and I'll get the angler to send back his shiny IGFA world Record certificate back to them.

  • pacific and atlantic bluefins are genetically identical ie the same species,so its kinda not the world record

  • Sorry John but the IGFA think it kinda is a world record.

The Japanese know the difference to these Pacific Bluefin are worthless (50cent a pound)in Japan.

  • @Kurtfromnz bud if thats a world record (which its not) i would have shattered it we catch 700 pounders average

  • Any way you look at it, that's a lot of sushi....

  • my friend cory shultz caught a 805 pound bluefin tuna yesterday search it up on google very first one if u type in 805 pound fish.

  • @Kurtfromnz ACTUALLY I THOUGHT ID DO A LITTLE RESEARCH ON PACIFIC BLUE FIN OF YOUR IGFA SITE AND IT CLEARLY SAYS (716 lb 8 oz) Westport , New Zealand 8/26/2007 Steve McCowan

SORRY TO RUIN UR "WORLD RECORD" STORY BUD

  • guys who cares how much its worth but to just catch that fish its a feat although i don't like towing that mini cooper behind the boat

  • towed catch...that ain't real cathin.

  • so good!

  • Why don't you fish like a real fisherman and stop the boat instead of towing the fish behind it for 20 miles and wearing it out?

  • @WildlifeObsessed

DNA have proven that these Northern Pacific Bluefin tuna are a species of their own off the west coast of NZ. which on occasions SBfin tuna do mix with briefly as their season runs into each other.

I did take sometime for the IGFA to recognize this species

They don't get sold as they have NO commercial value..the season runs mid August to maybe mid sept...It's not yet known how big these puppies get. although I don't think quite as big as 680kg's..now that indeed sir is a tuna
