LOL ... What a trippy story. I think I would have run off the stage with my tail between my legs. Kudos to them for sticking it out and doin what they came to do. Im curious tho...was switching to glide big yet when this happened? I noticed they mentioned playing it...I would have thought the audience would have gotten into that song. I LOVE IT!!!
Members of the audience were yelling their request til they were blue in the face.
The Kings didn't seem to hear them.
Out of desperation, they resorted to throwing their own shoes hoping they'd get the message that they wanted to hear Run Shoes Running...

I'm pretty sure Run Shoes was in the set. It was rather inspiring to see the whole crowd give us the finger, but we didn't have a song with 'finger' in the title. Maybe next time!

The only thing about Hendrix opening for the Monkees back in '67 was that the crowd was mostly young teenage girls, about 12.When the Kings opened for Jeff Beck, it was mostly young adult guys.I dont think 12 year old girls would give Jimi the finger...

No, they would be too polite back then, but I bet Jimi scared them big time!
