  • Stellar playing, Tomo! One of my all time fave tracks (Peacock recording, of course). I have a few old Duo Sonics like yours. A '62 in tan, but i think body was left over late 50's - it's super-lightweight & also has traces of Desert Sand under Tan. It's my go-to guitar @ home. '61 Siena Burst in better shape, but just doesn't have same resonance in wood & not broken in the same. '63 w beautiful flamey maple neck but frets very worn. Exc jazz chords in the is song. Would love to learn it all.

  • @surfercrow thanks so much for your kind words. I love Duo Sonics, Musicmasters. Glad that you know about Peacock records.

  • Nice job!!!

this is not an easy song to play. Gatemouth was a master at subtle interaction as this song show's. I am a fan of Hollywood Fat's version, along with Ronnie EArl which is quite different however his will stand the test of time. A local cat "Josh Miller" kills it too!

  • @dbstringbender1 Thank you so much! I enjoy other versions too. Tomo

  • Wow. Very nice.

I'm really interested in buying a Classic Vibe (the reissue), but I'm nervous about the twangy, thin sound. Any advice about cool pups to replace the stock pickups? I have some Fat 50s from another project (middle and bridge only - the neck is still in my Strat). Do you think they'd work okay with a Duo Sonic?

  • @baneoftrout Thank you! CV RI is not exactly as real vintage Duo Sonic. (neck size and design). You can put other pu if you like.

    Tomo

  • @superlou1s telecasters are my exception. shut up

  • @gromshit101- A: not everyone likes the sound of Gibsons or humbuckers. B: Gibson has worse quality control than Fender AND Gibsons are way overpriced.

  • @baneoftrout dont do it.

buy a les paul. fenders are shitty.

  • @billgrant1999 Thank you so much! While I am playing ... I leave my brain somewhere.... so you should learn whatever you like.. then figure it out! Could be from chords.... you want to have a few choices.

    Tomo
