  • @niiidar Unfortunately you're wrong. The English word would be said kache but because it is a French adoption then it is said as the word is in their language which is said closest to, without trying to sound French, cash.

  • can someone give me a example of hard drive cache?

  • @3DGAMEMAN Oh yeah like you would know huh? ;)

  • rodney is right that cache is said like cash, and hes correct about how its used. however, i would have to disagree that more cache = more performance. the reason cache is typically so small is because the smaller it is, the faster the cache performs. the problem though, is that as instructions get larger the cache can't fit all of it, so you need to increase the size of it overall, and the l3 cache becomes necessary.

  • just got 2 baracudas raid 0 should be alright

  • Should I get a quadcore processor 2.8 ghz with a 2MB Cache, or a Dual Core Processor 3.2GHz with a 6MB Cashe?

  • q6600 has 8mb cache

  • @LittleXxx650 GOOGLE IT

  • What I would like to see is a comparison between the Intel i5-670, and the Intel i7-860.

The dual core (670) has a much higher clock, but lower cache, which the quad (860 has a lower clock, but twice the cache.

With an application that primarily uses only one core (like most of them STILL), how would these two compare? Does anyone have any idea? I am NOT talking OC'd - just straight out of the box - both are 1156 sockets

  • yes, if you can spend the money get something with 8MB L3 Cache
