Part 1 of an interview with David Nathan, director of the Endangered Languages Archive, London, England. Interviewer is Julian Lang of the Institute of Native Knowledge, Eureka, California. Nathan was visiting northwest California, his first visit to the west coast. He is originally from Melbourne, Australia.
He speaks briefly of archiving languages, and the changes to that discipline, and also refers to the fact that learning one's language is humanity's very first archive. It served us for some 10,000 years or more!
