kid=15872. One of the best in the games played by them. You are going to see Moriuchi's really cool move, along with pretty difficult middlegame lines.

  • Thank you for your videos

After the suggested +R5h (at about 13:00 in the video), would it then be good for Moriuchi to play the same move G4h? Or is the move not good at that time?

  • I don't think G4h works after +R5h.

White can just take it with +Sx4h, and black's king would be still in danger.

  • Moriuchi looks really young. How old is he now?

  • He's 38.

Not so young when he played this game.

  • @beniceokay i see now that the convention for the videos is to have nameplate on other side of the board, sorry, it is confusing still though

  • @HIDETCHI

Habu's portrait or nameplate is in the wrong spot and so is Moriouchi's, Habu is the slightly built one and he wears glasses, moriuchi has a square chin. :) I am not much of a shogi player but i recognize these players

  • i think the only real reason why it has never happened is because the combination of talent, skill, and time in a non japanese culture to be devoted to shogi is rare. people have the ability, they just dont encounter the game and treat it that seriously

  • thanks for the video

yoshiharu habu makes really exciting moves.

I also would like to play shogi but this level is quite high for me, hahah

  • @ikegare1234: If it's your dream, go for it. Just because you live in the US doesn't mean it's impossible. The Japan Shogi Association will accept foreign pros, it's just never happened before, because it's a long and hard process. You just need to devote yourself to training very hard in shogi.

  • for one year.....my dream has been to be a pro shogi player........but i live in the us so i will prob nvr realize that dream.

  • Thanks for providing so many Habu and Oyama games. Definitely two of my favorite players. I'm always amazed by how far Habu can see into a position... he has great intuitive sense as well as excellent calculating ability. And Oyama's ability to defend almost any position is simply amazing. Such a treat to watch.
