STORY BEHIND THIS PAINTING
Ansaldo (the one on the very right) likes Dionara (lady on the left in peachy cape) and persuades to get her love. Although already married, in a moment of recklessness Dionara says she will return her love if Ansaldo achieves an impossible request which is to create a spring garden with the flowers and fruits of May in the middle of the winter. With the help of magician Ansaldo fulfills the request and creates a spring garden despite the snow that was falling outside in the real world. Dionara confess all to her husband Gilberto. He suggests she must comply with Ansaldo's desires. However, Ansaldo releases her from reckless contract because of her honesty to her husband.
