Americans United's Barry W. Lynn reminds Texas Gov. Rick Perry that he wasn't hired to be a preacher. Support AU to help us fight this and other attacks on church-state separation.

  • Keep religion out of the government. When you walk into your office, you should leave your God at the door. If you can't do that, don't rule the country I live in.

    It's that simple.

  • If Rick Perry wishes convert the masses to the faith of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, I might consider letting that pass.

  • @GodBlessYouSinner Quoting presidents who had no idea that one day there would be a Christianist, big business, war-mongering, morally bankrupt cult known collectively as Republicans who would dictate the most morally bankrupt policies (all under the guise of "Christianity") to help the rich & single out the poor for punishment, is like saying 1930's Germany, whose leader remained a devout "Christian" till his dying day, must be respected for their faith.

There is nothing Christian about RNC

  • Woodrow Wilson: A nation which does not remember what it was yesterday, does not know what it is today, nor what it is trying to do. We are trying to do a futile thing if we do not know where we came from or what we have been about.

  • Theodore Roosevelt: In this actual world, a churchless community, a community where men have abandoned and scoff at, or ignore Christian duties, is a community on the rapid downgrade.

  • Abraham Lincoln: It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.

  • John Adams: Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.

So great is my veneration of the Bible that the earlier my children read it, the more confident will be my hope that they will prove useful citizens of their country and respectful members of society.

  • George Washington: Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion… Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” (Farewell Address)

  • when someone gets elected, it sounds like they should abandon their religious values...that's what i gathered from this message.

  • ACTS 4:12-Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

If you believe this you are a CHRISTIAN, if you don't you aren't period.

Jesus said..Watch out for FALSE PROPHETS they come in Sheep's Clothing but they are RAVENOUS Wolves! Stay away from them!
