This was performed on 20080727. The first one i did was performed on 20080405 and I hit 91 reps. This time I hit 115, a pretty big improvement. The main thing i did for this was Max VO2 protocol with 16 kg. and 20 kg. kettlebells. I barely trained with the 24 kg.

  • Great job man!!!

  • Thanks.

  • Jordan, 115 is nice ! That happens to be my PR as well!

  • Thanks Franz. I'll probably have to take another swing at it soon.

  • How is snatching a kettlebell "functional"? By getting good at snatching a kettlebell, all you are doing is just that, adapting your body to snatch kettlebells.

Aside from that, good job, 115 snatches in 5 minutes is very good!

  • That's a reasonable enough question. Part of it comes down to learning to create power via the hip complex, which translates to many other athletic movements. The strength I have built in all pursuits whether is be deadlifting, pull ups, steel bending, all started with the kettlebells.

  • Great job Jordan. Your transitions between hands looks really smooth and efficient and prevents wasting an extra partial up-swing. But do you know if it would be acceptable for the RKC test? It looks a little like a two-handed swing at the bottom which would give you more power coming up than a single-handed swing. Any tips for going from one hand on the kettlebell handle to two hands?

  • I am a United States Marine and I must say that snatching kettlebells is probably the hardest form of cardio I have ever done. Not only does it give you the heart of a race horse, but it gives you this "never say die vice like grip", powerful explosive hips and leg extensors (which translates into virtually every sport), whip-like power and speed, flexibility, core stabilization, coordination, and mental toughness. Snatches kill you... and then your enemy. Keep on swinging! :D

  • i've done 126 for 5 min.

  • Nice going
